Back in November, Google found a workaround to utilize its Quick Share to work with Apple’s AirDrop. Google already let us know that AirDrop support is coming to more Android devices—and today is that day. It originally launched for the Pixel 10 series, and effective today, it is now available to its predecessor: the Pixel 9 series.
Google announced this new feature applies to the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, but not the Pixel 9a, unfortunately. So now both Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 devices can share files and photos via Quick Share to nearby Apple devices, including iPhones, iPads, and Macs. The process works seamlessly and works both ways, as you can AirDrop files to Pixel 9 & 10 devices.
When this feature arrives on more Android devices, there’ll be one less reason for iPhone users to switch to Android or for Android users to be chastised by their blue-bubble friend group.
