Yesterday, Google announced that the public preview of Fitbit’s Gemini-powered personal health coach is expanding. The preview originally launched last October for Android and US users only. The new version of the app will begin rolling out to iOS users in the US and to Android and iOS users in Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.
Outside of the refreshed design, Fitbit’s personal health coach essentially helps you stay healthy via a conversational interface that can craft fitness plans, provide detailed sleep analysis, daily readiness scores, and personalized recommendations, which can be fine-tuned throughout use. We reviewed it late last year and had an overall positive experience with it, but there’s room for improvement.
Keep in mind that you’ll need an active Fitbit Premium subscription, a Google account, and one of the supported devices, including Fitbit’s wearables and all versions of the Pixel Watch, to access it. Expect Fitbit’s new public preview to begin rolling out over the next few days. However, if you use it and don’t care for it, you can opt out and revert to the current version of the Fitbit app.
