After the Pixel 10 series was the lone Android device compatible with Apple’s AirDrop file transfer, the Pixel 9 series followed. Another device line is set to emerge soon. Samsung’s newest Galaxy S26 series will begin to support the feature in the very near future.

This news comes from a reported press conference by the company’s head of Mobile eXperience Business, held in Japan last week. This news was made official over the weekend via a press release from Samsung

AirDrop support will begin rolling out today, March 23, in Korea and expand to the US, Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, and Latin America, with additional Samsung devices gaining support soon.

Google did give us a heads-up last month that more devices would gain access to the feature, but didn’t say what or when. Whenever this goes live, S26 users will join the Pixel 9 and 10 phones in the ability to share pics, videos, files, etc., with Apple users via AirDrop.
