After many reports about the device, we might have our first good look at the upcoming iPhone Fold, iPhone Ultra, or whatever its official name will be. The image above, courtesy of leaker/journalist Sonny Dickson, shows the absurdly wide foldable alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max.
The purported dummy unit shows off its super-wide profile, which aligns with reports suggesting it is closer to Google’s first-gen Pixel Fold foldable. Other than that, the exterior of Apple’s foldable has two rear-facing cameras in a horizontal layout, unlike the vertically stacked dual shooters on the iPhone 17. The upcoming Pro iPhones resemble the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max identically, from what we can tell from the dummy units.
Unfortunately, according to Nikkei Asia, the delays are due to engineering problems within the Fold’s early test production phase. The source cites that April is a crucial month for the device, as it marks an important stage of the engineering verification test. The setback could push back the initial shipments of Apple’s first foldable by months, and it could ship months later than other iPhones this year.
So fingers crossed, they can fix the issues so interested buyers won’t have to wait any longer.
