As Computex news from overseas comes in, an interesting update arrived earlier this week. Dell announced the return of its XPS line of laptops. Meet the new Dell XPS 13 ultraportable laptop, the company’s thinnest and lightest XPS to date, designed to compete with Apple’s MacBook Neo

The new XPS features an aluminum build, measures 12.7mm thick, and weighs 2.2lbs, making it thinner and lighter than the Neo. The base model will be powered by an Intel Core Series 3 chip, 8GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. Higher trims will ship with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 chips, up to 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage. Dell’s new laptop will also arrive in two color options: storm and sky.

Its 13-inch, 120Hz IPS touchscreen display has 2.5K resolution, a built-in webcam with Windows Hello support, two 3.2 Gen 2 USB-C ports, a dual-fan cooling setup, a quad-speaker setup, and Wi-Fi 7 support. However, the new XPS lacks a 3.5mm audio jack, which may prompt many to dust off or buy a dongle if they don’t have Bluetooth earbuds or headphones.

The Dell XPS will cost $600 for students and $700 for everyone else, aligning with the Neo price point. The base model is expected to go on sale in June, with higher trims set to arrive later this summer.
