We’re already aware of Samsung releasing not one, but two versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 (wide and regular). Why the wide version, one might ask? Well, it’s to compete against the forthcoming iPhone Ultra or iPhone Fold foldable, which is rumored to sport a short and wide profile.
The images here are courtesy of @UniverseIce, who found them on Weibo, and reported by the folks over at Droid Life. These are clear images of what we can expect at the next Samsung Unpacked, which is rumored to happen in London on July 22. But now, we’re seeing actual dummy units of the two in the wild, alongside what could be the official or final names for the two.
So we could be potentially looking at the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. We’ll see if the names actually stick, but the two versions of the Z Fold 8 are reported to have the same price tag for some reason as well. Not sure why, as I’m sure the Wide won’t have the same battery life as the regular or Ultra, and it’s missing a camera. But this would be something Samsung would do.
