Earlier this month, Tesla finally brought over its newest Model Y Long Wheelbase model here to the US and Puerto Rico. This is nearly an entire year after the vehicle arrived in China. So what’s the difference between this model and the other Model Y versions? This variant turns the Model Y a bit longer and into a three-row, six-seat SUV. And since the company stopped making the Model S and Model X vehicles, this is now the largest new Tesla you can buy that’s not the CyberTruck.
The Model Y L adds six inches to the wheelbase and a larger fronk, or front trunk, while retaining the larger trunk area that can hold a 28-inch and a 20-inch suitcase. This is even with the added third row. Speaking of the extra seats, Tesla added a one-touch fold feature to both the second and third rows and included side airbags and a choice of 50W charging pads or ports. It also arrives with 325 miles of range, can go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds, 12 months of Supercharging, and 12 months of Full Self-Driving for free.
The Tesla Model Y Long Wheelbase starts at roughly $62,000, which is more than $20,000 more than the standard Model Y and over $10,000 more than the Model Y Premium model. Those of you interested can reserve yours now, with deliveries set to arrive sometime this fall.
