Now moving on to Google’s newest foldable, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Last year’s Moonstone and Jade get replaced with the similarly shaded Obsidian and Olive color choices. And as with every Pixel 11 phone, the 11 Pro Fold gets a $100 price hike, going from last year’s $1,800 to $1,900.
As with every other Pixel 11 phone, the Fold gets a bit lighter, going from 9.1 oz to 8.4 oz, with the addition of Qi2.2 25W for faster wireless charging, and a slightly redesigned camera bar with more glass and less metal. The outside screen’s bezels get smaller, increasing the outer screen to a 6.5-inch size from its predecessor’s 6.4-inches. Both exterior and interior displays get a boost to 3,600-nit peak brightness.
Thanks to Google’s new Tensor G6 processor, the latest foldable can achieve digital Super Zoom at 30x vs. the 20x previously. And since this is a Pro Pixel, the newest Fold gets the new rear-facing custom LED HiLight feature, which can display calls from custom contacts and visuals for Gemini communications. Unfortunately, the battery size is significantly-reduced from the 10 Pro Fold’s 5,015 mAh down to the 11 Pro Fold’s 4,750 mAh cell size.
The Pixel 11 Pro Fold still opens up to an 8-inch OLED 120 Hz screen, 16 GB of RAM, 256 GB of base storage, keeps its IP68-dust- and water-resistant body, retains Pixelsnap magnets, fast charging up to 50% in 30 mins, a pair of 10MP selfie cameras with one outside and the other inside, and its rear triple-camera system consisting of a 48MP main wide, a 10.5 ultrawide, and a 10.8MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom, and seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates.
Pre-orders for the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold begin today and will be available on August 20. Every Pixel 11 phone includes six months of the Google AI Pro plan, which includes higher Gemini usage limits, 5 TB of cloud storage, and Google Health Premium.
