Even though we got some ways before we head into the holiday season, Microsoft is keeping the hypetrain running on their upcoming  & most powerful console: the Xbox Series X.  This morning, they dropped more details in regards to the full hardware spec sheet and how some of their new features will work on the new console.

Let’s start things off w/ the full specs below past the video.

Since it has a PC tower-like design, Microsoft is taking full advantage of it.  The Series X will have 2 mainboards w/ a cooling system that pulls air form the bottom and pushes it up top via 130mm fan.  This will benefit in regards to load times.  It will also offer an SSD for faster performance as well as the ability to resume multiple games instantly – even after the system reboots.  They also show off their ray tracing abilities that adds more realistic lighting changes w/ improved shadows & cinematic effects.  All of this new hardware brings support for 8K gaming and 4K gaming @120fps.

And last but not least, we finally will get USB-C on an Xbox controller to go along w/ Bluetooth LE.  However it will still need AA batteries though.  It will be armed w/ a new share button for sending clips/screenshots.  But your current Xbox controller will work fine w/ the Series X BTW.

The Xbox Series X is looking more & more interesting.  There are still 2 things worth noting: we don’t know the pricing yet and Sony has been super quiet about the PS5.  So one or 2 of those things could change everyone’s outlook on it all.
