Earlier this morning, Apple unveiled their new update for the Mac OS X dubbed Mountain Lion. The newest OS X adds even more iOS features to the Mac OS so your Mac, iPad, & iPhone are connected even more than before. The newest Lion allows Mac users to access iCloud that syncs with your other iOS devices along with services like Find My Mac, email, contacts, calendars, & cloud storage. Also, the addition of the iOS features like Notification Center, 720p HD streaming for AirPlay Mirroring via Apple TV, Game Center, deep Twitter integration, Notes, & Reminders. Apps like iChat is now Messages as it will still supports AIM/Google Talk/Jabber/Yahoo! Messenger, iCal becomes Calendar, and Address Book becomes Contacts. And last but not least, Apple adds a new feature called Gatekeeper that acts as security setting that gives you control over what apps are installed on your Mac.
A preview version of Mountain Lion is now available for developers while the public will have to wait for its official release sometime during late summer. Also, a beta version of the Messages app for OS X is now available for all which can be downloaded here.
