So if you own a Google Nest Hub and/or a Nest Hub Max, you got a leg up against Amazon’s Echo smart displays. In an amazing turn of events, Google has struck a deal w/ Netflix and has brought support for the service to their smart displays.
Effective today, you can link your Netflix subscription to your display via the Home or Assistant app. Then you may say ‘Hey Google, open Netflix’ or access it via touch. For those of you w/ the Nest Hub Max (since its the only one of the 2 w/ a camera), you can use its camera for gesture controls for pause/playback by holding your hand up.
Now the catch is that Netflix support only available to these 2 Google smart displays. If you own a Lenovo, LG, or JBL smart display, you still won’t have Netflix access. So keep that in mind before you get excited.
