Although yesterday was all about Apple, Google dropped a bit of news as well in the form of a Pixel Feature Drop update. This is part of their June security update as it will bring forth a few cool new features to your Pixel phone.

Kicking things off, we got a new Astrophotography mode that expands its abilities to video as well as photos. So in Night Sight, it will automatically save both of your photos + videos of stars to your device. This will apply to Pixel 4/4a/4a 5G/5 smartphones.

Next up is Gboard. They added some more of their Google AI smarts to it their smart keyboard. So when you copy text like phone numbers, emails, websites, etc.; it will be presented as a suggested text on the clipboard. A small yet welcome addition to the keyboard.

You can now answer/reject phone calls via ‘Hey Google’ as opposed to just using your hand to wave or swiping. Works wonders for those of you who are washing your hands, cooking or just your hands are preoccupied.

Google also added 3 new Pride-inspired wallpapers + notifications, Google Photos adds Locked Folder, Digital Wellbeing can now warn you to look up while walking & using your phone, and Car Crash detection, call screening, & transcribe in Recorder expands to new countries outside of the US.

Seems like it’s been a while since we had a big Feature Drop as Google is making up for lost time w/ this one. For all my #teampixel members out there, be on the lookout for the update to grab it.
