RIM is having a difficult time rebounding as 2011 comes to an end and 2012 begins. After much criticism from consumers over this year for the long term outage in October and failure to keep up with other operating systems, the QNX platform was going to be a welcomed and much needed refresher to the Blackberry and tech world alike. Well for those that have waited and held out for the next Blackberry QNX, BBX, or now referred to as BB10 operating system, prepare to wait just a little longer. RIM has always taken their time to get the kinks out of their software and this new software will be no different. The necessary hardware and chipset is not truly ready or in place for the devices. What does that mean for consumers and share holders? A decline in products and sales, especially as iOS and Android devices continue to dominate the market. The new Blackberry 10 devices were looking at an early 2012 arrival but now may not see the light of day until late 2012, sounds familiar. It should, RIM has run into similar problems as they prepared to released the PlayBook with the much anticipated QNX software, which is a great device but couldn’t stand up to the mass sales of afore mentioned OS tablets (Galaxy Tabs and iPads). Let’s hope that RIM receives the necessary turn around to come back stronger in 2012, because numbers do not lie and their numbers all across the board are falling well below expectations in comparison to the numbers they put up last year.
