This morning, OnePlus unveiled its newest flagship, the OnePlus 15, at a Qualcomm event in China. That’s right, not the 14 but 15, as the number 4 is considered unlucky in the company’s home country of China.

The reason the latest OnePlus flagship was previewed at a Qualcomm event is that it’s powered by the recently announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Chip. The latest Snapdragon flagship processor boasts features such as faster processing and graphics speeds, along with a new ability to capture video in an APV (Advanced Professional Video) code for professional-level video production, and AI-powered camera technology.

This news aligns with OnePlus’s use of a new Detail Max image engine for its camera processing, following the end of its partnership with Hasselblad. Outside of that, the OnePlus 15 is rumored to have a fast refresh rate screen (even faster than the current 120Hz standard) and a massive battery.

We can expect OnePlus to share more details over the coming weeks.
