Fresh off the heels of Apple announcing its new M5 MacBook Pro laptops, we’re already getting news for next year’s model. Not that we’re not interested in a faster Apple laptop with faster storage and a quoted 24-hour battery life, but this may pique a bit more interest. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman is already reporting next year’s update, which everyone has been waiting for.

According to the latest report, the 2026 MacBook Pro would add an OLED touchscreen display within a lighter and thinner frame. It would also ditch the notch design and arrive with a Dynamic Island-like hole-punch style webcam from the company’s iPhones, and be powered by Apple’s in-house M6 processor. The new laptops are said to offer a reinforced hinge and screen hardware to keep in place when using the touchscreen. This would definitely blur the line between an iPad and a MacBook.

Also, next year could bring M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models, with updates to the MacBook Air, Mac Studio, Mac Mini, and two monitors coming as well.

As per usual, new technology will come at a price. The touchscreen MacBook Pro would arrive at a more expensive price point, and the reported increase is by a few hundred dollars. I’m definitely curious to see how the market reacts to them whenever they get announced and go on sale.
