With WWDC 2026 right around the corner, the rumor mill is buzzing about how Apple could finally be ready to reveal its new and improved Siri. This news has been long overdue, with several setbacks and delays along the way, especially since the company’s virtual assistant has been all but dwarfed by its competition, despite being the first to market.

This is corroborated by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who shared an early preview of the update via mockups last week. Gurman’s visuals give us an idea of what Siri’s new interface will look like and how it will be powered by Google’s Gemini. For starters, Apple will take advantage of the iPhone’s Dynamic Island, as that’s where the new Siri will reside. In addition to saying ‘Siri’ and long-pressing the Power button, you’ll also be able to swipe down from the top center to pull up Siri as well.

Siri is said to gain the ability to launch apps, compose messages, add calendar events, and more. Apple is on the fence about giving users the option to power Siri using other sources, including ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. The company will also turn Siri into a dedicated app, which will allow users to communicate via text and voice, upload photos and docs, and search previous Siri queries. This would also include deep Siri integration within the Camera and Photos apps and, more or less, replace iOS’s Visual Intelligence feature.

Gurman states that the new Siri could arrive as early as this September, and its final form could appear different than the visuals he put together. So who’s looking forward to giving Siri another chance if you’ve strayed away from it?
