Now that Apple has announced the dates for this year’s WWDC, it gives a timeline of when we can potentially expect the updated Siri to arrive, just as long as there are no more delays. According to a report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, it should be ready in time to be announced at Apple’s developer conference.
The report also suggests that the updated version of Siri will arrive as a standalone app, along with a new ‘Ask Siri’ feature for a more conversational, chat-like format with Dynamic Island support. This app would also store past and start new chats, switch between text and voice modes, and support image and document uploads—finally!
The new Siri will also gain system-wide integration to control other apps utilizing personal data from emails, messaging, and notes. It will summarize information from Apple News to include images and bullet points.
We already know that Google’s Gemini Assistant will be powering the new Siri. I, along with every other iPhone user, will be happy to hear that Apple made Siri useful and more competitive in its abilities. The new features are set to arrive as a part of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 updates.
