As we’re already anticipating Apple’s new iPhones in September, we may get a new iPad this fall as well. According to a recent report from Bloomberg, Apple’s smallest tablet is set to get an improved OLED display in the fall. The last time the iPad mini got a refresh was back in 2021, not including its chip upgrade in 2024.
The report also mentions refreshes for other iPad models, such as the entry-level, the Air, the Pro models, and the Pencil accessory. All are slated for spec bumps and a 2027 launch with the iPad Air to eventually get an OLED upgrade in the near future.
While the thought of an OLED iPad mini could be an exciting upgrade, the new increased price point that could potentially come along with it won’t be. Unfortunately, AI is ruining everything in regard to the cost of components and making the cost of consumer technology more expensive.
