Today is the Made By Google event for 2026, which introduces new hardware and lets us kick things off with the base model. The new Pixel 11 gets two new colors, swapping out Indigo and Lemongrass for Hibiscus and Pistachio, as Frost and Obsidian options remain intact. Google adds a $100 price increase, bringing the Pixel 11 to a $900 starting price.
So what’s new? Google’s entry-level flagship is mildly lighter, going from 7.2 oz to 6.9 oz. Its signature camera bar is now composed of edge-to-edge glass with a minimal metal frame on the outer border. The new Tensor G6 chip can provide 50% faster AI and machine learning, a 25% faster GPU for gaming, and includes an improved ISP, or image signal processor, capable of 4.5x faster low-light photos.
Google finally doubles its base storage to 256 GB and ditches the 128 GB option. The battery gets slightly larger, from 4,970 mAh to 4,985 mAh. It also supports faster wireless charging, as the 11 gets upgraded from 15W Qi2 to 25W Qi2.2 technology. This upgrade will essentially boost wireless charging by 30 minutes when charging from 0 to 50%.
Regarding what remains the same as last year’s model, the Pixel 11 retains the 6.3-inch OLED screen with 3,000-nit peak brightness, 12GB of RAM, a 10.5MP selfie camera, and its rear triple camera system consisting of 48MP wide, 13MP ultrawide, and a 10.8MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom. It also keeps an IP68 dust- and water-resistant body, Pixelsnap magnets, and seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates.
Pre-orders for the Pixel 11 begin today and will be available on August 20. The Pixel 11 will include six months of Google AI, which includes higher Gemini usage limits, 5TB of cloud storage, and access to Google Health Premium and Google Home Premium.
