While the Internet is still reveling in the arrival of Apple’s first foldable last week, today’s current iPhone and iPad users can enjoy notable changes and upgrades with the new iOS software update. Yup, iOS 27 exits the public beta and becomes available to all supported iPhones and iPads.
The new iOS 27 update arrives with the new-and-improved Siri AI, new Apple Intelligence features, improved performance, iPhone Handoff, which allows you to switch between two iPhones while using the same phone number on each device, and more. If you own any of the Apple products listed below, you’ll get the update:
iPhone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone Air, iPhone 17, iPhone 17e, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16, iPhone 16e, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11, and iPhone SE (2nd generation and later).
As far as iPads, these are the models set to get the iPadOS 27 update:
iPad Pro (4th generation and later, M1 and later), iPad Air (4th generation and later, M2 and later), iPad (9th generation and later, A16), and iPad mini (6th generation, A17 Pro).
However, not all devices will get access to everything for iOS 27 due to not being equipped with enough RAM to power Apple Intelligence and its features. So if you own a base model iPhone 15 and older, you’ll miss out on the new Siri AI and Apple Intelligence features, unfortunately. So you’ll need at least a 15 Pro to enjoy all that the new software update has to bring. The same applies to iPads running anything older than an M1 processor for Air and Pro models, and A17 Pro-powered mini models made the cut. You’ll need an M1-powered iPad or A17 Pro mini to get everything, which leaves the base model out completely.
