Remember Xbox’s disc-to-digital feature that was unveiled back in August and only available for select Xbox Insiders? Well, Microsoft is now available to all Xbox Series S and X console owners. Now, before you get completely overjoyed, the feature is currently available for a limited number of Xbox One and Series X games and has zero support for Xbox 360 or original Xbox games—for now.

In case you’re unaware, the feature allows gamers to essentially make digital copies of their physical Xbox gaming library. The process involves getting a digital license for the inserted game, and after the game is digitized, you won’t require a disc to play, and discs will continue to work as well. However, it’s worth noting that if you do sell or loan the disc out, the license will transfer to the other console’s account.

Long-time Xbox users can enjoy their older library without having to access it via Game Pass. The company can also keep long-time users happy while preparing them for a disc-less future with their upcoming Project Helix. This is definitely a win-win for both Microsoft and Xbox.
