Nexus 6
The Nexus 6 is Google’s latest flagship Android device showcasing the latest version of Android w/ Lollipop.  It had a lot of new features like a 2K display, camera capable of recording video in 4K, front-facing dual speakers but was missing one of the trending smartphone features.  For those of you who might be curious about why the Google’s Nexus 6 didn’t have a trendy fingerprint scanner on-board, the folks over at The Telegraph got the inside scoop on why it wound up MIA.

The dimple on the back where Motorola’s M logo is where it was actually supposed to go.  Apple previously purchased Authentic, which would have been Moto’s fingerprint supplier and there went that idea.  There was a second best supplier out there that they could have utilized but they felt it didn’t meet their standards.  They didn’t want to have one on there just for the sake of having one, they wanted it to actually work.  it was actually removed during the later stages of development as there was some software APIs that was created to support it and still exists.

We’ll see on the 2015 Nexus or Silver devices if Google begins to incorporate a fingerprint scanner.
