Nextbit is a company that’s 2 years in the making. It is comprised of former Apple, Google, and HTC employees and they have created the world’s only cloud-first smartphone. They are currently on Kickstarter as they have already surpassed their goal for funding for their devices.

The Robin is their 1st device offering everything you would need in a smartphone. It has 5.2inch 1080p IPS display, a Snapdragon 808 CPU, running Android Lollipop w/ a light Nextbit UI, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage + 100GB of cloud storage for free, 13MP rear-facing camera w/ phase detection autofocus, a 2680 mAh battery, a fingerprint scanner on the Power which lies on the side of the device, NFC, quick charging, and a USB Type-C port. All of this for only $299.
Today they announced the addition of a CDMA option for backers. Meaning now you have the option to get a Robin to support AT&T/T-Mobile or Verizon carriers. The VZW supported device went on sale at 10AM PST/1PM EST priced at $299 for the 1st 300 devices and $349 afterwards. Those of you who already put $$$ down for the Robin can choose the CDMA or GSM version after the campaign is over. Nextbit hopes to have the devices shipping in early January.
