The new Gear S2 runs the best version of Tizen we have seen thus far along w/ a 1.2inch AMOLED display +360 x 360 resolution, powered by a 1GHz dual-core CPU, 1.5GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and a 250 mAh battery. Announced earlier this morning, Samsung gave us all of the missing pieces of the new wearable: pricing & availability.
This Friday, October 2nd, you will be able to buy the Gear S2 & Gear S2 Classic from Amazon, Best Buy, Samsung, & select Macys locations. The Gear S2 will cost you $299.99 while the Gear S2 Classic will cost you $349.99. Those of you interested but want to get some hands-on time w/ it first, you’ll be able to check it out at your local Best Buy & Macys on October 16th.
Also, be on the lookout for a cellular version of the watches in support for AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon networks later this fall. This is a smartwatch that stands out of the pack a little bit. Who’s interested in picking one up?
