Bose is continuing their tradition of primo audio products.  Their specialty has been being one of, if not, the best in noise-cancelling.  However the past few years, the shift of the headphone industry are gone from wired to wireless being the norm.  

Earlier this month, they unveiled a couple of new treats for 2016.  One of them that we've been using for a while is the Quiet Comfort 35 headphones.  This is their newest take on their wireless, noise-cancelling headphones.  We've been using it for a little over a week and we're ready to tell you everything you to know about if you're considering to pick one up.



Design/Comfort

The overall look & feel is what you would expect from Bose but underneath it all, they've made some alterations.  They're comprised of glass-filled nylon w/ a stainless steel for the headband spring that is also wrapped in the luxurious Alcantara.  Lastly, we have protein leather for the earcups.  The sum of all these parts promotes a premium look while being lightweight about it.

The right cup is where all of the controls are.  You got the Power switch in the center of the cup while the volume/multi-function setup is behind the cup.  The multi-function button allows you to play/pause music as well as active Siri/Google Now and execute voice calls.  Overall, they are super comfortable to wear for several hours at a time but I wish they were a bit more comfortable when resting around your neck.  

Sound

Being a Bluetooth headphone from the company, they wanted to make sure they didn't miss a beat in regards to sound quality - and they did not.  These offer up full sound that's not bass-heavy. Perfect for listening to Chance The Rapper on the train uninterrupted.  Think more distinguished audio than deep sounds.  BTW these cans were made for wireless audio consumption but if you do go wired, you lose out on the Active EQ so the quality won't be the same.  All of this w/ the joys of their active noise cancellation makes for the solution for noisy travels. 

Big, well-balanced audio as advertised or as you would expect from Bose.

Battery Life

Bose suggests 20-hours w/ this wirelessly and up to 40 hours when you plug into your smartphone. This was easy to obtain that number within using it for several 4-6 hours per day at work along w/ a few 10-minute train commutes.  This schedule will only warrant me to charge it once a week in regards to just using it wirelessly.  I chose to opt out of plugging as consumers ain't dropping $350 to enjoy w/o that Active EQ.  But completely satisfied w/ not having to charge these every other night.

I want to commend Bose on making a great pair of Bluetooth +NFC cans w/ optimal audio & amazing battery life.  Definitely, job well done.  As amazing as these are, you must really need peace and quiet while listening w/ a $350 price tag.  So just keep that in mind.  They do offer a great harmony of bass, treble, & clarity but if you're looking for something that's more bass-heavy; then these may not be for you.  We'll probably point you in another direction to get the kind of sound you might be looking for.
