We knew about most of the details coming to the Galaxy Note 9, now we know it all. Earlier today in Brooklyn, they made the Note 9 official along w/ everything else.
More of a slight evolution than a lazy refresh.
The Note 9 touts a slightly larger 6.4inch Super AMOLED QHD+ display, powered by a Snapdragon 845 CPU now w/ a built-in water-cooling system to help keep the Note 9 from burning up again, choice of 6GB RAM/128GB storage or 8GB RAM/512GB storage - both expandable via microSD up to 1TB, running Android 8.1 Oreo, and a massive 4000mAh battery to last all day.
So along w/ the fingerprint scanner now in a better place under the cameras, they beefed up the shooters using both hardware + software. So you have dual 12MP cameras w/ a f/1.5 + f/2.4 sensor. Both are equipped w/ optical image stabilization as well. The made sure to add some Artificial Intelligence to their cameras this time around. So you.now have Scene Optimizer mode to analyze the environment and it chooses up to 20 different scenarios ( food, plants, street, sunsets, pets, etc) similar to LG's AI Cam. Now you can be notified when someone blinks or bad lighting w/ Flaw Detection so it will let you know to retake the photo.
Now onto the S Pen, we got the addition of Bluetooth Low Energy which will give this more tricks than just drawing, translating, etc. So now you can use the S Pen as a remote camera shutter, navigate through slides, play/pause music w/ a press of a button. The S Pen will have a 30-minute battery life for the newer features and can recharge inside of the Note 9 in a matter of a few seconds. And finally, we got DeX support which attaches via HDMI adapter and allows you to stream you Note 9 to a monitor but still use your phone as you would.
Now for the pricing. The 6GB RAM/128GB storage option will cost you $1,000 and the 8GB RAM/512GB storage will cost you $1,250. Pre-orders kick off tonight at 12:01 AM PST and will only arrive in Ocean Blue & Lavender Purple here in the US.
Now Samsung is giving you lots of power this time around. The question is: are you willing to pay for it?
