Yesterday afternoon/evening, Verizon unveiled the initial launch details for the 5G service. But not their 5G service for smartphones but their 5G broadband home internet service.
Say hello to Verizon 5G Home launching only in 4 select cities of Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, & Sacramento. Now don’t expect ridiculously blazing speeds as the quoted typical speeds would be around 300 Mbps and peak close to 1Gbps w/ zero data caps. The 5G service would cost you $50 per month for Verizon Wireless subscribers while those who are on other carriers will cost you $70 per month. This service will be important to roll out its 5G mobile network.
Verizon 5G Home gives you YouTube TV for 3 months free, a free Apple TV 4K or Google Chromecast Ultra, and the option to buy 5G smartphones early. This also comes w/ a free router/router upgrades, no extra hardware costs, white glove installation, and the 1st 3 months for free.
The 5G Home service kicks off on October 1st as those of you who live within the 4 launch cities can sign up starting tomorrow at 8AM EST at the link below. A very interesting move by Verizon here. Curious to see how fast they expand to other cities w/ the rollout.
Who’s signing up to give this a shot?
