Along with today’s Facebook Home announcement, Facebook unveiled their first Android smartphone to ship with Facebook Home. They partnered with AT&T and HTC to offer the HTC First. Not exactly a Facebook phone but a huge upgrade from the HTC Status of 2011.
The HTC First offers all of the treats of Facebook Home (Cover Feed, Chat Heads, Notifications, & App Launcher) inside of a mid-range Android smartphone. Underneath the hood of the First, you have a dual-core 1.4GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 5MP camera w/ single LED flash, running Android 4.1 on a 4.3inch display w/ 720p HD resolution.
The First is an AT&T exclusive and will take advantage of the carrier’s 4G LTE network of course. It will be available next week on April 12th for $99 on contract as AT&T begins taking pre-orders today. And lastly it comes in four colors: White, Pale Blue, Black & Red.
