Remember when Sonos said Google Assistant support was coming to a few of their smart speakers? Some of you may and some of you may not. That’s the case cause it was almost 2 years ago when it was originally announced. It may finally happen though – like soon.
Thanks to a shareholder later going around the Internet, you’ll be able to say ‘OK, Google’ to your Sonos as soon as next week. This means the 2 supported speakers (the Beam & the One) will get the long-awaited software update here in the US. The update is said to arrive other regions within the next few months.
Sonos owners will then have to choose the default virtual assistant (Alexa or Google Assistant) and then they’re good to go. No word on whether or not if the feature will make its way to older Sonos products. I hope they can pull it off.
