weekend stream 4

Another week comes to an end as the clocks go back an hour this weekend.  This week has been quite hectic for us here TGSB.  We had the Droid Turbo announcement/hands-on, hands-on w/ the Nexus 6 + Nexus 9, we reviewed the awesome Bose QuietComfort 25 noise-cancelling headphones, the full Avengers trailer revealed adding the party scene where everyone tries to lift Thor's hammer before Ultron interrupts, and Marvel revealed their roadmap to Phase 3 which finally includes Black Panther.  BTW, our music picks are NSFW or warning for explicit lyrics, etc.  For our visual streaming picks, we actually have some Marvel picks for you for once as their animated selection isn't as great as DC's.

Let's get started.

Ultimate Avengers: Movie (Netflix)

This is the animated iteration of The Avengers which I've seen.  It shows Cap getting thawed out of the ice and meeting the rest of the crew: Hulk, Black Widow, Thor, Wasp, Giant Man, and Iron Man.  They band together w/ S.H.I.E.L.D. to fight against an alien invasion.  Sounds like the actual movie, right?  Well this was made back in 2006.  Its a good flick to watch to see a different look at the team getting together.  The sequel features Black Panther and is even better than the 1st.

Next Avengers (Netflix)

Although this aimed for kids, it is still a great future tale.   It involves the children of The Avengers we know now as Iron Man has been taking care of them as Ultron conquered the planet.  They learn their true potential as they have to find the Hulk to conquer evil.  Nicely done, Marvel.

BlackPanther

Black Panther

While only on for one season, BET x Marvel got together in 2009 to give Black Panther his own animated series.  It was the best depiction that I've seen for the King of Wakanda.   It shows his rise to becoming the king while fending off invading forces all the while trying to find his father's murderer.  You see cameos from Captain America who got his ass kicked by T'Challa BTW, Juggernaut, the Black Knight, Klaw, and Storm of the X-Men makes several appearances.  Glad to see Marvel's finally bringing him to the big screen.

While Netflix only has it in DVD format, you can find several episodes on YouTube & Amazon Instant Video to get an idea of what you can expect.

Happy Streaming!
