Remember when Disney acquired Fox near the end of last year?   Well, that is currently still subject to federal approval.  Fresh off of the heels of AT&T’s wins to buy Time Warner, Comcast is officially throwing its hat in the ring to build their content entity.

They’ve just put a bid in to buy 21st Century Fox to contest Disney via a $65 billion offer in cash.  The large offer would include the Fox movie & TV studios, the FX cable channel, 30% of Hulu, UK-based Sky + Star TV, and $13 million of debt.

Comcast already bought NBC Universal 7 years ago and this would be the next acquisition to grow the company for future business revenue.  More specifically, to better compete as cable TV shrinks & Netflix-like streaming grows.  Comcast wants this so bad that they’re willing to cover Fox’s $2.5 billion fee in case the deal won’t go through as well as an additional $1.5 billion Fox will owe Disney for brekaing their arrangement.

Now w/ all of the info, this could actually happen.  Especially if Fox prefers to deal w/ Comcast over Disney.  But Disney has a lot of $$$$ they could throw around to keep Fox in their favor.  So it can go either way believe it or not.

So Fantastic Four & X-Men may not arrive to the MCU after all.  Thoughts on it all?
