Last year at CES, Samsung wowed everyone w/ the massive Wall TV, it has been tweaked and perfected even more so for 2019.  Meet their new modular 75inch MicroLED 4K TV.  And unlike some of things you see at CES, this is real and will eventually make its way to home in some way, shape, or form.

So last year’s Wall TV was comprised of MicroLEDs as where it utilizes millions of RGB LED chips to create bright colors w/o the need of a backlight.  This technology makes the MicroLED panels super thin.  This also makes it on par to rival OLED technology w/ a bright + vast HDR colors that would outlast OLED panels.

Now onto the modular portion of it all.  The MicroLED panels consist of 2 pieces: the backplate that hooks to other modules and the actual display panels that attaches on magnetically.  You also have audio modules that attaches the same way for native audio on board.

Now whenever it does make its way to market, it won’t be cheap.   But if this is can live up to its spec sheet and live longer than OLEDs, it might be worth whatever price Samsung may attach to it.

Thoughts on the modular MicroLED TV?
