So earlier this morning, the folks over at DJI dropped some new camera gimbals w/ the RS2 (or the Ronin 2) and the RSC2 (or the Ronin SC 2). The RS2 will be targeted to those w/ bigger cameras + those working w/ a production crew while the RSC2 will be targeted to those using smaller mirrorless cameras.
The RS2 offers a carbon fiber build weighing in at 2.86lbs while being 1.3lbs lighter than the original Ronin S. It can also support up to a 10lb payload as well. DJI added a small 1.4inch touchscreen display above the joystick to show off/toggle settings, camera data, & show off a live feed. The battery life is now up to 12 hours of juice on a single charge and adds a fast-charging option to give you 2 hours of juice in a 15-minute charge.
The RSC2 offers a more plastic build weighing in at 2.65lbs while being 2.4lbs heavier than the original Ronin SC. It can also support up to a 6.6lb payload as well. On this one, you got a 1inch OLED display above the handle along w/ a new foldable design that allows you to shoot low to the ground. The battery life is quoted at up to 12 hours of juice on a single charge and offers the same fast charging feature on the RS2 gimbal.
Both offers a SuperSmooth mode to compensate for longer focal lengths up to 100mm as well as their new Titan Stabilization Algorithm to compensate for movement + get the best gimbal tilt/angle. And last but not least, it has a dual layer mounting plate that supports Arca-Swiss + Manfrotto standards while being able to adjust the balance of your camera w/ a knob. Along w/ that, you get filming modes like panorama, timelapse, veritcal mode, & a new thing called Time Tunnel that does a hyperlapse while doing a 360-degree roll.
Both gimbals are available today. The RS2 will cost you $849 while the RSC2 will cost $499. There will be Pro Combo pack that comes w/ a phone holder, separate focus motor, carrying case, & RavenEye Image Transmitter option as well. The Pro Combo for the RS2 will cost you $999 as on the RSC2 will cost you $739.
