iPhone 12 lineup renders

Now Apple’s iPhone 12 event is next week as we knew a great deal about them already.  A report from earlier today kind of gives us everything else we need to know: from pricing to pre-order to launch dates & more.

This bit of news comes from a notable leaker Kang who posted on Weibo about this all.  All 4 versions of the iPhone 12 will offer 5G support (both sub 6GHz + mmWave) and will be able to record video in Dolby Vision HDR.  The Pro models is supposed to offer Super Retina XDR displays as well as ceramic + glass to make them tougher.

  • The iPhone 12 mini will have a 5.4inch display starting price of $699. It is said to be available in black, white, red, blue, and green w/ storage options from 64GB to 256GB. It’ll come with 2 cameras: a wide-angle and an ultrawide as it will be available to pre-order on November 6th or the 7th and dropping on the November 13th or 14th.
  • The 6.1inch iPhone 12 could have a starting price of $799. It’ll apparently be available in black, white, red, blue, and green w/ storage options ranging from 64GB to 256GB. It reportedly comes with the same 2 cameras as the 12 mini and will be available to pre-order on October 16th or 17th, w/ a release date on October 23rd or 24th.
  • The $999 starting price for the 6.1inch iPhone 12 Pro will come in gold, silver, graphite, and blue w/ storage ranging from 128GB to 512GB. Alongside its wide-angle and ultrawide cameras, Kang says the Pro will have a telephoto camera with 4x optical zoom and a LIDAR sensor for augmented reality.  Pre-orders will start on October 16th or 17th, with a release date on October 23rd or 24th.
  • And the 6.7inch iPhone 12 Pro Max will apparently have a starting price of $1,099. Kang says it’ll ship in gold, silver, graphite, and blue, with storage ranging from 128GB to 512GB.  The 12 Pro will have 3 cameras and a LIDAR sensor, but its telephoto lens will reportedly offer 5x optical zoom.  Pre-orders are said to start on November 13th or 14th, with a release date on November 20th or 21st.

Along w/ the new iPhones, we’re expecting the long-awaited HomePod mini smart speaker.  It is said to cost $99 as it will stand 3.3inches tall & be powered by the same S5 CPU that was inside of the Apple Watch Series 5.  This has been a whole 2 years since the original dropped and has been rumored ever since.

And last but least, we could see the return of MagSafe but not on MacBooks.  Look out for new MagSafe wireless chargers.  They will use magnets to help it align correctly to charge.

It also looks like Apple’s AirTags, their Bluetooth-powered tags won’t make it at this announcement as well as their AirPods Studio over-the-ear headphones.  According to Jon Prosser, the headphones are set to arrive in a $350 sporty version & a $599 premium version w/ a metal build.

So despite the alleged no-shows, who’s interested in the new iPhone 12 lineup?
