Coming off of the heels of the LG V60, the Wing, & Rollable Phone from CES, all isn’t well in the world of LG.  While they have been one of my favorite Android phone makers out , LG might not be in the smartphone business much longer.

Based on a report from the Korea Herald,  LG is considering leaving the smartphone market in 2022.  Over the past 5 years, LG’s smartphone business took a $4.5 billion loss.  Making it tough to justify continuing to compete against the likes of Apple, Samsung, Huawei, & more.  LG CEO Kwon Bong-Seok has notified employees that they’re considering making big changes.  They’re considering all possible measures like a sale, withdrawal, & downsizing.

Coincidentally enough, the LG Rollable Phone is set to actually drop sometime in 2021.  If this comes into fruition, this might be one of their last drops as a smartphone company.   I get it but I wish this wasn’t the case.  I really don’t want to see LG go the way of HTC but business is business though.
