The Z Fold will officially join the S-line is gaining S Pen support. This bit of news is coming straight from the mouth of Samsung BTW. With that said, is there a need for the Galaxy Note to exist anymore? It’s safe to say the Z Fold is Samsung’s premium Note replacement.

The new Samsung Mobile president, Dr. TM Roh had this to say in their recent press release about their upcoming Unpacked event:

“instead of unveiling a new Galaxy Note this time around, we will further broaden beloved Note features to more Samsung Galaxy devices.”

So this further coincides w/ the death of the Galaxy Note rumors that have been looming all year. Not sure if this is due to the direction Samsung is heading or due to the chip shortage happening due to the pandemic. We’re just not sure if the Galaxy Note will make its return as an FE (or Fan Edition) or are they just taking the year off.

Speaking of S Pens, Roh states that the Z Fold might get its own exclusive stylus designed specifically for folding phones. In other words, the S Pen that works on the Z Fold 3 won’t work on the Galaxy S21 Ultra. He also spoke of collaborations w/ Google & Microsoft as this could hopefully lead to better multitasking & less fragmentation on folding phones moving forward.

Roh also promises more durable folding devices coming. They’ve definitely learned from their Ultra-Thin Glass fiasco from the 1st wave of the Fold. Then add the reports of the Z Flip3 & Z Fold 3 getting IPX8 rating, Samsung’s new folding phones sound like they took a huge leap in regards to its innovation.

The Samsung Unpacked is on August 11th and we’ll see all they have to unveil. Hopefully, everything doesn’t get leaked before then.
