Ahead of the Pixel 6 launch, we were discussing the possibility of the elusive Pixel Watch finally coming into fruition. It still didn’t happen as it got delayed. Yesterday, we got word that it is indeed coming & set to launch sometime in 2022.
This bit of news arrives courtesy of a report from Business Insider saying the wait is over -unless something changes again. The upside of this actually happening than not is pretty high as the stars are pretty much aligned for it. Now that Google owns Fitbit for accurate/proper health + fitness readings and their Wear OS software now being powered by Tizen over Android, Google is more than ready beyond whatever their hardware design aspirations might be.
The closest thing we got to one previously were the LG Watch Sport + Watch Style back in 2017 despite not touting the official Pixel branding. As now would be a much better time to launch an official Apple Watch competitor but w/ the proper Pixel branding to go along w/ it.
