Insta360 recently dropped their newest & pricier 360 camera to date w/ their One RS 1inch 360 Edition. This is modeled after their One RS camera w/ the same camera core more or less. Although this version isn’t as modular as the previous iterations, you can still add some thing to it. Did we mention that this was co-engineered w/ Leica? Yeah, that too.
The One RS 1inch 360 Edition is crafted in 4 parts w/ a plastic mounting bracket, a battery brick w/ USB-C port, 1/4 tripod mount, and a core w/ USB-C port, microSD card slot, and a 1.3inch touchscreen. And the main attraction is their dual 1inch CMOS camera sensors capable of 6K@30fps and 21MP photos. The larger sensors can help pull off better low-light performance + dynamic range.
You can enjoy updated processor w/ their new ‘FlowState stabilization’ on board instead of the app to use Active HDR video. As far as the battery life on this thing, you can get up to 62 minutes when shooting in 6K@30fps video. However, it only has IPX3 water-resistant that can’t be submerged in water.
The One RS 1inch 360 Edition is out now w/ an $800 price tag which is more expensive than their previous costly option of $550. However, if you already have a One RS, you can buy the 1inch 360 Edition kit minus the camera core and get it for $650.
