Earlier this week, the folks over at Zhiyun refreshed one of their gimbals too to compete w/ the latest from DJI. Meet the WeeBill 3, their new lightweight & more ergonomic gimbal which adds 2 new cool features along w/ the updated design.
Before we dive into it all, just know that you don’t have to wait for it. It is available now for $449 for the gimbal itself and $529 for the combo that adds a backpack, wrist rest, & extendable sling grip. So now onto all that it can do.
The new look is called the Sling 2.0 design which adds 3 upgrades that includes a newly modeled L-shape handle for more stability when standing on its own, a new wrist rest, and a new sling grip in a new place. It helps fatigue by moving the sling grip to the bottom of the gimbal. The new grip offers thumb buttons, mini control stick, finger trigger + wheel for customization.
You got a next-gen Quick Release system on the WeeBill 3 comprised of a dual quick release plate w/ an embedded magnetic wrench for balancing your rig faster. Then you have a larger 7800 mAh internal battery w/ PD fast-charging to go from 0-100% in 2 hours. Granting you up to 21 hours of juice which is deal for a long shoot or a big project.
And as far as the 2 new cooler features, they added a built-in mic + light on this thing. The mic is a Hi-Fi cardioid one w/ noise-canceling and the light is a 1000 lumen fill light to give you less gear to carry and bring you everything you could need – all in one setup.
So this is a very interesting gimbal from Zhiyun. I have the Crane 2S which is amazing but this looks like more for my smaller mirrorless camera. Will you be picking this one up?
