As of the past few years, Google I/O has been synonymous w/ new software as well as Google’s Pixel A-line of smartphones – and 2023 is no different. On sale right now is the $499 Pixel 7A to replace the Pixel 6A of last year. This year, the 7A borrows more from the flagship than previously. Essentially making this a Pixel 7 w/ a plastic shell.
So you have a 6.1inch 90Hz OLED display w/ 2400 x 1080 resolution, powered by the same Tensor G2 CPU from the Pixel 7 line, coupled w/ 8GB of RAM, 128GB of UFS 3.1 faster storage, stereo speakers, 2 mics, an in-display fingerprint reader, Face Unlock, a f/1.8 64MP main + f/2.2 13MP ultrawide rear dual camera setup, a f/2.2 13MP selfie camera, and a 438 mAh battery w/ fast + wireless charging.
The Google Pixel 7A is available to buy right now in Charcoal, Sea, Snow, and Coral color options. Being $50 more than the $449 Pixel 6A might be a stretch as this is pushing the budget boundaries in pricing. Will this stop you from picking one up? Or is this just the right price point for everything they’re offering?
