Today at Apple’s Awe-dropping event, the company unveiled every official detail for its iPhone 17 series. Outside of a few of its color options, it looks exactly like the iPhone 16, down to its aluminum design, vertically-stacked dual rear-facing cameras, IP68 body, and Action and Camera Control buttons.
Starting things off with the base model iPhone 17, it now offers a slightly larger 6.3-inch display, an upgrade from the 6.1-inch size on the iPhone 16. Also new is the addition of 120Hz ProMotion or faster refresh rate, and Always-On Display, a feature exclusive to Pro iPhone models. And like every other smartphone this year, its screen gets brighter, and it can go up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness.
The iPhone 17 is powered by the latest A19 processor, which should offer incremental improvements in speed, battery management, image processing, and on-device AI tasks—like new Apple Intelligence features, which come with iOS 26.
It will retain its rear-facing 48MP Dual Fusion main camera and ultrawide with a separate 12MP 2x telephoto sensor, which should capture wonderful images for both photos and 4K videos like its predecessor. Apple is also boosting its selfie shooter w/ a new 17MP Center Stage camera.
The iPhone 17 will be available in five color options: Light Purple, Green, Blue, Black, and White. However, the starting storage option is 256GB, which is a welcome upgrade for many.
