As we’re right around the corner from an Apple announcement, we’re getting more information about another one happening later this fall. Yup, we’re talking about Apple’s long-awaited OLED touchscreen MacBook Pros. We talked about this back in October, but we now have a little more information on its touchscreen interface.

According to Bloomberg, Apple could utilize the iPhone’s Dynamic Island as a part of how macOS will interact with the touchscreen. It would make the transition between mouse and touch input smoother and change depending on where you touch your MacBook’s screen. Touching an onscreen button would trigger a menu for specific touch commands within an app, allowing you to increase the size of menu items for easier interaction, and pinching the screen to zoom images, files, and web pages.

Now, this won’t be a new MacBook category as both the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros will offer touchscreen options, apparently. Adding an OLED touchscreen to Apple’s powerful laptops will come at a cost. We don’t have any pricing details, but we can anticipate an increase by at least a few hundred dollars at the least. So if you’re interested, you should start saving for it now—if you haven’t already.
