Earlier this month, Google teased the Pixel 10a, and today is the day for more info and pre-orders on the company’s budget-friendly flagship phone. Google was able to retain the $500 price point, but if you were expecting noteworthy new features here, you won’t find much.
From the Pixel 9a to the Pixel 10a, the updates are more subtle. Google made a minor adjustment to the rear camera bar so that the 10a can now lie flat when placed face up. The screen on the 10a goes from 2,700 nits up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness. It also gets slightly slimmer bezels, tougher cover glass, has AirDrop and Satellite SOS support, and has mildly faster charging for both wired (30W) and wireless (10W).
Like its predecessor, the Pixel 10a offers a 6.3-inch OLED screen, powered by Google’s Tensor G4 chip, 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, a rear-facing dual camera setup with a 48MP main and 13MP ultrawide sensor, a 5,100 mAh battery, an IP68-rated body, and 7 years of security, software, and OS updates.
And lastly, the 10a brings over several AI features from the flagship Pixel 10 phones, such as Camera Coach, Auto Best Take, Satellite SOS, Add Me, Magic Compose, Nano Banana, Circle to Search, and Direct My Call.
The Google Pixel 10a will arrive in four different color options: Fog, Obsidian, Berry, and Lavender, with matching cases. Pre-orders kick off today and will go on sale on March 5 at all three carriers, including Amazon, Best Buy, and Google. Google is also adding two new colors for the Pixel Buds 2a, Berry and Fog.
