Yesterday, we got some big news coming to to the Apple Watch via software BTW of watchOS 7.  This bit of news is courtesy of 9to5Mac that spotted code for new features within leaked iOS 14 code.

The new features are said to include sleep tracking, new watchfaces, & watchface sharing.  The sleep tracking will offer a personalized sleep goal within the Health app to get better sleep natively and no longer via 3rd-party app.  Sleep tracking was said to be one of the rumored features of the Apple Watch Series 5 but didn’t make it.

Although custom watchfaces isn’t on the docket of things to arrive, we’re getting more watchfaces.  One of them is said to be a new Infograph Pro face w/ a tachymeter feature.  This feature allows you to covert elapsed time into speed based on time/distance measured.  And last but not least is the ability to share watchfaces w/ others via the Watch app on iOS.  The rest of the changes offer parental controls for kids, better photo-based watchfaces, and other changes to the Watch apps.

Curious to see when we will see this as the coronavirus has been shutting down almost all events including SXSW and Google I/O.  We still don’t know if WWDC is happening this year as I assume it will be cancelled.

Who’s looking forward to these new things coming to your Apple Watch?
