Just in case you thought its been quiet on the drone side of DJI, they’ve been cooking up the next one. They did drop their FPV drone last month but in case you’re looking for the newest one from the Mavic line, we got you covered.
Their next drone is the Mavic Air 2S and thanks to all of the countless leaks & such, we can tell you a great deal about it. For starters, the camera sensor is a bit of a downgrade on paper. The Air 2S will have a 1inch 20MP as opposed to the 1inch 48MP sensor from last year’s model. Outside of that it will shoot 4K @60fps as well as pack a 3500 mAh battery.
It will also support the latest DJI features/software like their ActiveTrack v4 to better track subjects while filming, AirSense ADS-B detection so it can recognize planes nearby & vice-versa, and their OcuSync 3.0 which offers low-latency 1080p video transmission. It will even support their latest accessories V2 Goggles & Motion Controller. And last but not least, it is said to also be a bit heavier the Air 2 by 30 grams.

The Mavic Air 2 is currently priced at $800 as its starting point as the Mavic Air 2S will more than likely be a bit more expensive at launch. And when is it coming you might ask? It is rumored to launch as early as next week but definitely sometime this month.
If the rumored specs hold true, is this the drone you would upgrade to or pass?
