Last week, Sennheiser announced a new pair of cans, the HBD 630s. As the headline suggests, it’s built inside a pair of the company’s 2022 Momentum 4 chassis. While they look like its flagship consumer cans, I’m sure they won’t sound like them.
Sennheiser crafted a customized acoustic system dedicated to focused listening. Each cup is closed back and uses 42mm drivers, which are tuned for accurate audio reproduction. The new HBD 630s supports High-Res Audio with 24-bit resolution when connected to a source using USB-C or 3.5mm cables.
The headphones also include a Bluetooth USB-C dongle to activate the high-res audio. The cans also support high-res wireless audio streaming via Bluetooth, featuring aptX HD and aptX Adaptive for improved audio quality during streaming.
On the battery side of things, Sennheiser quotes up to a whopping 60 hours of battery life with ANC turned on. The HBD 630s also support fast charging, as a 10-minute charge provides up to 7 hours of juice.
The Sennheiser HBD 630s are available for pre-order now for $500, and will begin shipping on October 21st.
