For non-Pixel users waiting to get some of that sweet AirDrop support the Pixel 10 got last week, you may not have a long wait. Qualcomm, which is the company behind Snapdragon chips, teased that support for Apple’s file-sharing feature would arrive for its Snapdragon-powered Android phones.

Qualcomm shared the news over on X that they “can’t wait for people to use this once enabled on Snapdragon in the near future.” This addition would open the feature beyond Google’s Tensor-powered Pixels and open the Android AirDrop support to devices from Nothing, OnePlus, and Samsung. However, Android-powered MediaTek devices and older Pixels are currently left out of the loop—at least until an announcement is made for the feature.

Unfortunately, we don’t know exactly when the Quick Share to AirDrop feature will be available on Snapdragon devices, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it arrives sometime before the end of the year. I’m curious to see if any other cross-platform features will come about between Android and iOS in the near future.
