Last week, GoPro had the Internet buzzing with its announcement of its newest cameras. So GoPro’s Mission 1 will have a $600 price tag, and Mission 1 Pro will cost you $700, both arriving on May 28. If you’re a GoPro subscriber, you can save $100 respectively. Both can be reserved now, and GoPro will add the $100 point-and-shoot grip accessory for free.
Interestingly enough, the Mission 1 Pro ILS, or the one with a mount for interchangeable Micro Four Thirds lenses, will also cost $700 without an additional premium attached—pun intended—and is set to arrive sometime in Q3 of this year. Yeah, this is at a premium compared to its competitors (DJI and Insta360), which charge several hundred dollars less for cameras that are relatively comparable.
To recap what it’s offering, GoPro’s newest shooters provide a 1-inch 50MP sensor capable of 50MP stills and 8K video, a new GP3 chip, 14 stops of dynamic range, better low-light, larger physical buttons, and slightly larger screens.
The company also revealed the pricing for its new accessories, which were announced alongside the Mission 1 cameras. GoPro’s Wireless Mic System will cost you $160; the Media Mod is $150; the Light Mod is $60; a 4-pack of ND filters is $100; the Volta 2 battery grip rig is $140; and the new, larger batteries cost $35.
