With the holidays approaching, now is the definitely a great time to be a gamer – especially an Xbox One owner. Now if you’ve had an Xbox One since launch or shortly after and have been picking up game after game. That 500GB hard drive might be desperately seeking additional space – especially w/ games Halo 5 & the Master Chief Collection taking up more space than your average game.
Now might be a great time to take advantage of the ability to expand your storage BTW of an external hard drive. The process is simple and painless as we will walk you through it.
- Plug your HD into one of the 3 USB ports on your Xbox One.
- A prompt should pop up asking to format this drive. If you don’t get the pop-up, go to Settings > System > Manage Storage.
- Proceed to format it as it will erase everything on it.
- The new HD should be now visible under Manage Storage.
- If you don’t see it you need to download the Media Player app from the Microsoft Store.
This should hold you down for a while w/o having to start or further delete games from your Xbox One. This will definitely help you out moving forward now that Halo 5 is out, the new Call Of Duty in a few hours, and Tomb Raider right around the corner.
