Earlier this morning, the folks over at Blue Microphones unveiled a new compact option of the popular USB mic: the new Yeti Nano. The new mic is made for the podcast, livestreaming, voiceover crowd but cheaper than the regular Yeti.
Other than being smaller than the regular Yeti, the Nano retains the headphone/monitoring volume knob + mute switch is now one multi-purpose dial. The dial lights up to show when the mic is on and active. Instead of offering 4 modes of recording, the Nano offers 2 modes: Cardioid & Omnidirectional for solo + group recordings.
You don't have any gain control option on the mic itself but thanks to the new Sherpa audio app, you can do everything there. Like change mic pattern, tweak sample rates, gains, levels, etc. The Yeti Nano offers 2 condenser capsules to give you studio-quality sound that supports 24-bit/48kHz recording that's just plugin-and start recording.
Like the other USB, the Nano can be unmounted from its stand and added to a mic/boom arm. Namely, the Blue Boom Arm Mic. The Yeti Nano is available right now for $100 & comes in 4 colors: Shadow Grey, Vivid Blue, Red Onyx, & Cubano Gold. You can grab it at various retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, B&H, Fry's, Newegg, & more.
